Coaxial cable stolen from business: Broadview Heights Rap sheet

THEFT, BROADVIEW ROAD: The master of a corporation leasing space within the 10000 block of Broadview Road called police Jan. 23 because someone stole $16,000 valuation on RG213 coaxial cable on the property.

An officer spoke on the company’s owner who said the four, 1,000-foot, reels were stolen at approximately 7 p.m. Jan. 22.

Surveillance footage showed a silver Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up, pulling an enclosed trailer, go into the lot at 6:56 p.m. Due to poor quality from the video, the officer was struggle to begin to see the numberplate number.

Two men got out of your truck, rolled the reels to the trailer, returned from the truck and left the scene. The theft took fifteen minutes to try and do.

Web-sites the company also reported that on Jan. 7 five rolls of coax cable, valued at $19,000, was stolen in the lot.

Police are investigating both thefts.

OVI, SPRAGUE ROAD: Independence police notified their Broadview Heights counterparts at 3:47 p.m. Jan. 28 that there were a one-vehicle accident on the intersection of Skyline Drive and Sprague Road.

A police officer attained the location and located a tan Ford Explorer that has a smashed window and passenger side damage.

When driving became a disoriented woman, 59, of Broadview Heights, who said she had run out of gas. She also denied being in an accident despite the destruction of the vehicle.

In the discussion it became clear that she has a few adult beverages. After exiting the SUV to execute field sobriety tests, the officer noticed the girl was unsteady to be with her feet. The officer completed one test prior to a woman refused to perform any more.

As she was being arrested for operating a car while intoxicated, the woman started to complain that she would get fired understanding that the officer can’t arrest her.

On a tow inventory police found a half-full can of beer underneath the driver seat and lots of unopened beer cans behind her seat.

Officers searched the area and determined the accident occurred on the northeast corner with the Wallings Road and Skyline Drive intersection. They found the SUV’s missing passenger side mirror along with regions of the Explorer.

It looked like the SUV discontinued along side it of the road, hit a speed limit sign, several large rocks and side-swiped several trees.

For the station at least 18 decided to supply a breath sample and recorded a 0.217 blood-alcohol content. She was cited for OVI, OVI for which has a prohibited BAC, leaving the scene of the accident, failure to overpower and open container.
